5 Year State Plan Input

In every state and territory, programs authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act (DD Act) empower individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to help shape policies that impact them. Different programs have different rules on what they can do and how they can spend their money.

Developmental Disability Councils in each state and US territory, design a 5-Year State Plan to provide education and fund projects to show new ways that people with disabilities can be fully included in their community. The DD Act allows Councils to choose Federal “Areas of Emphasis” to focus on based on gaps in service identified in our State. The information collected will help us determine those gaps and develop the goals and activities for our next State Plan.

The survey for the first round of collecting information has now closed. We are grateful for everyone that chose to participate in this survey.

A draft of the 5-Year State Plan will be released in June 2025. A report of the town hall information will be released by the end of January 2025. Please check back on this page for more information.
